Child Quest International successfully assisted in reuniting a mother with her three and four year old sons after they had been missing for two years. The boys’ father took them to Mexico in 2007 and returned to the U.S. without them. After working with law enforcement, the state department, and other missing children’s organizations, the boys’ custodial mother contacted Child Quest for additional assistance in October 2009.
Because of a mother’s determination, the tenacity of Child Quest, and the excellent work of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department and the Missing Children’s Investigative Agency, an agreement was reached for the boys to travel with relatives, via bus from the small Mexican village where they had been residing for two years to the U.S. border town of Matamoros Mexico. Child Quest contacted the U.S. Consulate in Matamoros and successfully arranged for a representative to meet the mother in Brownsville Texas, and to accompany her across the border to pick up her boys and escort the three of them back into the United States. The boys are now safely home with their mother in Indiana.
Child Quest would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department, the U.S. Consulate in Matamoros Mexico, Missing Children’s Investigative Agency, Texas Missing Persons Clearinghouse, Association of Missing & Exploited Children’s Organizations, Laura Recovery Center, Heidi Search Center and Rachel Foundation for their support and assistance with this case.
